I dont get my period (almost at all). The doctor says that this is normal and they can fix it by putting me on birth control. I want to get pregnant though.

What herbs are best to promote a healthy menstrual cycle, and will not hurt fertility?

there is waht some call a mediteranian diet, it is based on the bible, it truly is the miracle cure… eat lots of fish, but NOT shell fish, eat fresh fruits and veggies, and add garlic and grains to every meal, I know it changes your entire eating habit, but it really works… however, if you don’t want to go all out, go to a health food store, and ask the expert they should know a few tricks…

Pomegranate is one of the best food you can get natural estrogen. Eat the raw pomegranate if you have strong teeth, chew the seed too - that’s better than tea or juice. Also increase soy consumption in your diet, avoid processed food if possible.
If you can find an oriental herb shop nearby, by some dried mugwart, make a small pillow (or pouch) with it (like, 3 inch x 8 inch is good enough) make it hot in the microwave (20 second to 1 minute) and cover your low abdomen with it. Will increase local blood circulation to female organs.

Hi SIlver
Here is an herb formula that Ive recommended to a few women with success.
Female Formula
Dong-quai, Angelica polymorpha sinensis root, Chaste Tree berry, Vitex agnus-castus, Wild Yam, Dioscorea villosa root, Damiana leaf, Turnera aphrodisiaca, Licorice root, Glycyrrhiza glabra and Hops flowers, Humulus lupulus.
While running my clinic I have seen many women who became incapable of normal functioning, both physically and emotionally, because of puberty, PMS, menopause and hormonal imbalance. This formula has been a lifesaver for them. Besides the obvious health benefits of hormonal balancing, many saved their marriages, their families, their careers and their sanity by using this formula.
I used this herbal formula in my clinic with tremendous success. It regulates and balances female hormones during puberty, PMS and menopause and alleviates symptoms such as menstrual cramps, headaches, sensitive breasts, mood swings, anxiety, insomnia, irritability, depression, anger, nervousness, water retention/bloating, weight gain, hot flashes, hair loss and dry vaginal tissue. (at herbdoc.com)
It regulates and normalizes the menstrual cycle and relieves associated menstrual problems. It increases fertility and sexual desire and calms the nerves. It is a powerfully effective overall female tonic.
Best of health to you

Alt Healer’s formula sounds like a good one. I don’t think it has to be that complex, though. Many women get good results by using Vitex alone.
Vitex agnus castus (aka Chaste Tree Berry) decreases estrogen production and increases progesterone. Excess estrogen is most likely what is inhibiting your menses. Take about 500-600 mg. 3x daily, preferably w/ meals.
If Vitex by itself doesn’t straighten things out, I would add Dong Quai to the regimen. It is a good hormone balancer. Take 2- 500 mg. capsules each day. Stop if/when you suspect pregnancy.
Also sleep in a dark room, or one with only natural moonlight coming in the windows. The moon helps regulate our cycle, too.

Herbs - I was about to mention a few names. However, I think the best approach for you is talk to a qualified TCM and Acupuncturist who is specialized in women’s health Infertility. Just having a few name, is not enough, you need to take them in a proper dosage and specific time , to be effective. They have natural approach and use herbs for treatment.
Self-care
The best way to avoid an interruption in your menstrual cycle is to maintain a healthy lifestyle:
Make changes in your diet and exercise activity to achieve a healthy weight.
Strive for a healthy balance in work, recreation and rest.
Assess areas of stress and conflict in your life. If you can’t decrease stress on your own, ask for help from family, friends or your doctor.
