I’m not sure about indoors but I have many plants outdoors around my house that repel, plus I have bats that nest.
Tansy is an old fashioned plant with a citronella smell that repels mosquitos.
There are many others too look for plants or herbs with a lemony scent.

For a plant to repel mozzies, you got to make it release its smell, which is done by either brushing past the plant every now or then or by crushing its leaves. It does not sound very effective to me. I use citronella lamps (not the candles) they are very effective everytime we do a bbq outside. You could make one yourself and put some citronella oil in it.
Check for any standing water nearby where the mozzies must be breeding.

The best Mosquito Repelling Plant is the Citronella Geranium
Mosquito plant you can crush the leaves on your skin to help protect from bites! Also Catnip and rosemarys help Mosquitos

Mosquitoes stay away from Basil, Rose-scented Geraniums (Pelargonium x asperum), plants in the Mint family, Cedar,
Rosemary, Catnip, Marigolds, Citronella, Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus)… which is Citronella’s kissing cousin; Ageratum, Lemon Ironwood, Lavender, Southernwood (Artemisia abrotanum), Fennel, Pennyroyal, Garlic Thyme.
The ‘Mozzie Buster’ pelargonium (Pelargonium citrosum ‘Van Leenii’) has been implanted with citronella genes, giving it a strong lemon scent that mixes with its orginal rose scent. It is the lemon scent that repels mosquitoes, so it is an ideal plant to position around outdoor entertaining areas and children’s play areas.
Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis), from the mint family, is used as a mosquito repellent is highly recommended by Art Tucker, research professor at Delaware State. It’s easy to grow from seeds and contains the mosquito repellents: citronellal, geraniol and geranial. You can rub its leaves on yourself clothing to keep mosquitoes away you can plant it near your patio or foundation, as well as grow it indoors.
Mr Tucker also confirms that rose-scented geraniums (Pelargonium x asperum, sometimes sold as P. graveolens) contain both citronellol, which is similar to citronellal, and geraniol. But, the widely promoted ‘Citrosa’ geranium, which is the so-called Mosquito Plant, appears to contain only small amounts of citronellal and is not likely to be any more effective as a mosquito repellent than other rose geraniums.
Cedar is well-known for repelling insects. Outside, If you can’t plant Cedars, spread cedar chips on pathways. Also, fill in low areas to help in eliminating puddles.
Good luck!!! Hope this helps.

My mom religously uses a ‘citronella plant’ that she gets at a local greenhouse. I read a few other replies, and I think it could be the citronella geranium someone mentioned. She brings hers in over the winter, so they could be an indoor plant in the summer, too. It works really well. She just rubs the top of the plant to get the smell around when she goes outside to sit on the deck in the summer.
