Whats the difference between letting your hair grow out naturaly, and with vitamins, in speed?

My friend wants to grow her hair to her thighs, crazzyyyy, so her mom gave her hair vitamins. How much more faster does that make her hair grow compared to just letting it grow by itself?

Hair grows on it’s own… hair vitamins are ridiculous.

It’s really not going to do anything but make it shinier. There are no miracle pills or potions that will make your hair grow any faster than it does. Normal healthy hair grows 1/4 to 1/2 a month. It slows down in the winter and grows a little faster in the summer. Tell her to just have patience, it will grow.

    Hair has 3 cycles.
Grow, Rest, and Shed. Each phase of the cycle lasts a certain amount of time before entering the next. For example, Let’s say your growth phase may last 2 years before entering into the Rest phase. Since hair grows at a rate of 1/2 inch per month, your hair will only grow 12 inches before entering the resting and shedding phases.
If you let this continue naturally it will take longer for your hair to reach your desired length.
But there is something called MSM. MSM is short for Methylsulfonylmethane. It is a sulphide which is known to naturally lengthen your hair’s growth by lengthening the growth phase. Going back to the example, If your hair’s growth phase is 2 years , MSM will lengthen the growth phase to 3 or maybe even 4 years before your hair enters it’s rest phase. This will cause you hair to have doubled in length than it normally would have if you had let it grow out naturally.
There are other benefits to MSM than just increasing hair growth. It helps remove toxins from the body, improve joint health, make your nails stronger and some people even report healthier skin.
I can vouch for this. I started taking MSM about 3 months ago and after 6 weeks of use my hair was thicker longer, my nails were stronger and my skin felt smoother.
I definately recommend it in addition to a daily multivitamin. You can get MSM in pill or powder form but prefer the powder form because I can increase the amount if I want. Plus, I find that the powder form is more potent than the pill form. I use the Lignisul brand MSM powder. You can get it on the internet or your local health store may carry it.
There are other vitamins that are healthy for your hair such as Biotin and Silica. You coud take them in pill form, but I just prefer to get these particular vitamins by eating certain vegetables that contain them.
