Is it the vitamins or the raging hormones that are making me dizzy and nauseous every morning?
July 15th, 2009 | by Vitamin Advisor |Jenna @ home with Grant 12/8/08 asked:
I take two gummy vitamins every morning. I can’t take the real prenatals because I can’t swallow pills very well, so my dr told me to take these.
I’m 9 weeks today.

If you are taking your vitamins on an empty stomache that would be the problem. You should always take them with a meal, or they cause serious upheaval to the stomache.
If you are taking them with a meal, then I would say it’s the hormones. But you are getting close to your second trimester, it should pass then.

Since every one is different, it’s hard to say. You can try taking your vitamins at night and hopefully that is the problem. Otherwise I would definitely say it’s the *wonderful* morning sickness.

I would say its the hormones…
Give it a few more weeks. Then the placenta should be developed and take over. Then you should notice a decrease in nausea. Not sure about your being dizzy though.

It’s the hormones, honey. While they aren’t exactly sure what causes the nausea, hcg has long been believed to be the culprit. Make sure you are trying to eat frequent small meals throughout the day…that can help keep nausea at bay. As for getting dizzy, make sure you rise slowly from a sitting position. Don’t worry, in about another month, your should start to feel a lot better. Congrats!

Well, it could be either or a combination of both. Make sure you’re eating a balanced breakfast (it’s probably the zinc making you ill if it IS the vitamins). Morning sickness is common.
Just on a side note, are you sure the gummy vitamins are ok to take during pg? I ask because I found several kinds and all said Don’t take while pg or nursing. (Sorry for the question

It possible it could be both. The best thing to do is not take them on a empty stomach and drink plenty of water after taking them.
