After muscle training does a person really have to drink a protein shake?

when i go to the gym I do between 1-1 1/2 hours of cardio a 1/2 hour of muscle training. but one of my co-workers told me that i should be drinking one of those protein drinks afterwards. Is that true if so why?

No, you don’t. Any protein will do. Eat a can or two of tuna.

they do work, but you can eat a can of tuna instead.
also, if what you want is better results take some creatine, it will work.

It’s for the protein and extra calories so builders can gain muscle weight. However, you can eat other protein as well it doesn’t have to be a shake.

First off doing muscle training on top of that mnuch cardio is bad. Your going to stress your heart out. Cardio should be done during one half of the day and weight lifting in the other half. Like cardio in the am and weight lifting in the pm. As for the protein shake, it can be beneficial because..depending on how hard you train your muscles. They are aborbed very quickly into the bloodstream and go directly to the muscles. If you dont drink the protein shake and go and eat, the body has to break down and digest what you eat before any can go to the muscles. Protein shakes need not be complicated. A scoop or two of protein powder mixed with some coconut water or juice
