What kind of vitamins do you give your little ones?

My son will be 14 months old soon, and I don’t know if its too early to start vitamins or not. We are planning on asking the dr. at our next visit, but I’m just curious what other moms do.

He was breastfed until 4-5 months, formula for 7 months, and now he is on cow’s milk and eats baby food veggies and fruit and regular food evenly.

I use poly-vi-sol in my babies whole milk cup or bottle. She is 1 and the pediatrician wanted me to start vitamins since she isnt one formula any more. I use flinstone gummies for my 2 yr old.

I give my daughter Flintsones with iron. On the bottle it says for children 4 and older.
    Hope this helps.

They recommend starting children’s vitamins at about 2 yrs old.

Stick with the liquids such as Poly-Vi-Sol for now. When he os about 18 months then it should be ok to start a chewable of your choice such as Flintstones chewables.

i used vitamin D drops from about 2 months until they were on whole milk. if you are in warm climate where your **** gets lots of sun…….i suggest nothing. if you are in a cold climate vitamin D is a must to prevent rickets (i live in canada so odviously..) otherwise, judge by his diet. is it fairly balanced? if so, he doesn’t need it. if he’s a picky eater…..give him a multi-vitamin drop.

Most kids dont need vitamins for a while if they are getting all their nutrients from their diet. Vitamins can be started around 2-3 yrs according to the Flinstones vitamins but I wouldnt recomend it for a 14 month old.

i give my two children Flintstones they love them, but it took several trial an errors to get the one that they were happy taking. so its really up to your pediatrician on when you should start with the vitamins, after that your child will let you know if they are yummy.

Most doctors will tell you that for well-fed children, supplemental vitamins are a placebo (for the parent).

I use whatever is chewable, on sale and has vegan vit. D at the local health-food store. That, plus the calcium chews from Trader Joes. I avoid all artificial colours and flavors and try to avoid fake sugars too.
My son is a picky eater and we are vegan, so i consider vitamins a little added insurance.

Flinstones, but the box says 2-3 olds. I don’t know for 14 month, so I would ask the Dr.
