What vitamins do you give your toddler?
February 6th, 2009 | by Vitamin Advisor |Brianna’sMomma asked:
My daughter is 18 months old. The ped. said we can give her Flintstone vitamins. Do you have experience with chewable vitamins and an 18 month old? Thanks.

My son just takes the fluoride ones that the pediatrician prescribed. There is no fluoride in the water where we live, which is why kids here take prescription vitamins. It’s actually a multivitamin, so he gets a nice balance. In addition, he takes an omega 3 fish oil supplement every morning, but I think your daughter is too young for that one.
I’ve heard the Flintstones ones are good. They have one called Flintstones Junior, or something to that effect. I thought they were only for children ages 2 and up, but if your doctor gives you the OK, go ahead.

I see no need..and neither does my doctor…if a child gets a healthy diet then supplements are not necassary…my 3 year old has never had a vitamin and is taller and better developed than almost all her peers.

I haven’t started my 17 month old on vitamins yet, but my 4 year old daughter I started giving them to her at 2 and they were the princess chewable vitamins and she loved them, now she really likes the flinestone sour gummy vitamins and the winnie the pooh pixie stick vitamins!!! They sell all those at wal-mart.
I will probably start my son on the flintstone or winnie the pooh chewables!!

my kids like the gummy princes vits. they have never liked the regular vits. my 2 yr old will only eat the princes ones and my 6 yr old will eat any of them as long as they are gummy. She said they taste like candy.

My daughter hates the Flintstone vitamins. So the only thing I give her is 1 Tum (broke into pieces) every couple days to make sure she has enough calcium.
