What vitamins should a vegetarian take?

plastic[tastic] asked:

I’ve been a vegetarian for years now, and someone has brought it to my attention that I could probably fix a lot of my health problems by taking vitamins. What vitamins should I take? I really don’t eat much (I have a very small appetite) so I’m probably not even getting enough protein, even though I eat soy products. I also don’t eat all my fruits and veggies, or all my grain… What vitamins should I be taking to stay healthy?

you should just adjust your diet to make it more healthier and skip the vitamins. if you eat a well balanced diet you shouldn’t need vitamins even being vegetarian.

Take a good multivitamin and eat a wide variety of veggies and fruits. You will have to spend some time in the grocery store and in the kitchen to ensure that you and eat more natural whole grain foods and less processed foods. Be good to yourself.

Balance your diet with proteins, greens, fruits and grains. If you still want to use vitamins, multivitamins with iron is smart especially if you lack energy.

Drink soy protein shakes and supplement iron and B12. B12 is found only in animal products and you probably aren’t getting enough if you are veggie. Iron is found mostly in meat but also in green leafy veggies. If you aren’t sure whether you are getting enough iron you can get a blood test from your doctor. I supplement iron every other day just to be safe…. And soy protein shakes have lots of protein! I mix one with a bananana so they taste better.

    I take multi-vitamin pill,
every night after dinner, take half pill only.
Also take bio-calcium morning half, night half.

You will not get overdose by taking multi vitamin pill,
but it guaranty you will not missing any important vitamin and mineral.
